Today’s Poetry Prompt: Write a poem that tells a story.
Lilith
According to Jewish legend,
Eve was Adam's second wife.
The first being an unrepentant, uppity gal
named Lilith.
Lilith ran off to live the good life, au solitaire.
Leaving First Husband wifeless,
and the Deity supremely pissed.
Or so they say.
Ladies, take heart.
God created the universe and all the stars.
Set the earth in perfect balance.
Filled creation with a multitude.
From mighty tyrannosaurus
to tiny hedge-hog.
But to make a woman,
took TWO tries.
Eventually, Eve became Adam's rib mate, but
she didn't turn out
exactly as expected,
either.
